Where Are They Now?

The Sopranos is an iconic American crime drama series created by David Chase. The initial story revolves around Tony Soprano, a mafia boss from northern New Jersey, who tries to balance the demands of a criminal organization and his personal life. But you know that already.

Let’s revisit this legendary series and find out what the actors are doing today!

1. James Gandolfini — Tony Soprano

Big Tony is the main character of the series and the boss of the DiMeo Italian-American mafia family. He is a wonderful husband and a caring father, but at the same time, he’s a ruthless killer who cheats on his wife and tries to strangle his own mother with a pillow. James Gandolfini received three Emmy and Golden Globe awards for this role. Sadly, James’s life was cut short on June 19, 2013, while on vacation in Rome. After the actor’s death, there were two more films with his participation: Enough Said, The Drop.

2. Edie Falco — Carmela Soprano

Carmela Soprano was the loving wife of Tony Soprano and the caring mother of Tony Jr. and Meadow. Edie Falco is the only actress to win an Emmy for Best Actress in a Drama Series and Best Actress in a Comedy Series. Since 2009, she has appeared in the medical comedy series — Nurse Jackie.

3. Jamie-Lynn Sigler — Meadow Soprano

Next is the adorable daughter of Tony Soprano, who has always been on good terms with her father. She is beautiful, responsible, and is not afraid of getting her hands dirty. The role of Meadow gave Jamie-Lynn Sigler quite a career boost. In 2004, the girl played in The Rise and Fall of Heidi Fleiss and later in How I Met Your Mother. In 2016, Sigler admitted to suffering from multiple sclerosis.

4. Robert Iler — Anthony Soprano Jr.

Anthony Jr. is the only son and youngest child of Tony Soprano. He inherited only the worst qualities from his dad — selfishness and panic attacks. After filming, Robert Iler started to butt heads with the law and was even accused of illegal possession of marijuana. Most recently, in 2009, he had a cameo appearance on Law & Order.

5. Michael Imperioli — Christopher Moltisanti

Moltisanti is one of the series’ main characters, a protégé of Tony Soprano and a member of the DiMeo crime family. Michael Imperioli played Moltisanti in all six seasons of The Sopranos, but he started in the Goodfellas. He continues to act even today, including in movies like Oldboy, One Night in Miami, and Hungry Ghosts.

6. Tony Sirico — Peter Paul “Poly” Galtieri

Peter Paul “Poly” Galtieri was a ruthless gangster and hitman. This guy had nothing to lose, but knew how to earn good money for Tony’s family. Prior to his role in The Sopranos, Tony Sirico starred in The Goodfellas and Dead Presidents, but recently it’s been tough for him to find any big roles. Although, he did voice Vinnie Griffin in the animated series Family Guy, so that’s something.

7. Steve Shirripa — Bobby “Bacala” Baccalieri

Bobby “Bacala” Baccalieri Jr. was the Leader of the Gang and later became the second boss of the DiMeo crime family. In addition, he was Tony Soprano’s brother-in-law. Steve Shirripa played Baccaglieri from the second to the final season. Before The Sopranos, he starred in the TV series The King of Queens and Joey, followed by Blue Bloods and Clint Eastwood’s Jersey Boys.

8. Joe Pantoliano — Ralph Cifaretto

Ralph was part of the New Jersey crime family. Even before The Sopranos, actor Joe Pantoliano had a successful career starring in Goonies and The Matrix. And after playing a psychotic mafioso, he continued riding the wave straight into Daredevil, Bad Boys 2, and more recently — Bad Boys For Life.

9. Steve Buscemi — Tony Blundetto

Tony Blundetto was Tony Soprano’s nephew. After 17 years in prison, he wanted to start an honest life but got pulled into the underworld again. Even before The Sopranos, Buscemi starred in cult classics like Reservoir Dogs, Fargo, and The Big Lebowski. To this day, Steve appears in many TV series and movies like Miracle Workers and the Hotel Transylvania franchise.
