Christopher, or as he liked to call himself in school, Topher, has always wanted to become a big movie star. From early childhood, he took part in school theater productions and even worked part-time in a video rental store, which in turn made him hate the movie Space Jam because it was on all the time.
Topher got his first role in the sitcom “That 70s Show” (1998-2006), where he played the main character — seventeen-year-old Eric Foreman. Most of the show takes place in Eric’s basement, where he and the rest of the gang hang out rocking out, and, you know, doing what all 70s kids did.
Speaking of the gang, we see huge names like Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher, but the main attraction was probably the numerous celebrity cameos: Betty White, Amy Adams, Bruce Willis, Alice Cooper, and dozens more. The show was quite popular and lasted for seven hilarious seasons, but unfortunately, Topher’s character was nowhere to be seen in the final season. Thanks to the streaming services, the sitcom has recently been blowing up, so if you haven’t seen it, now’s your chance.
The screenwriters wrote him off in a very awkward way, but it was ultimately Topher’s request to leave the show and aim for something bigger. After departing from the sitcom, the actor bought an apartment in New York to be closer to his family and devote time to other cinematic projects like the infamous Spider-Man 3. It was a blessing and a curse for Topher. On the one hand, playing one of Spidey’s most iconic villains (Venom) should have been a slam dunk for anyone’s career, but on the other hand, Sony really screwed the pooch on that movie. It was the peak of Topher’s career, and what came after were movies that’s you’ve probably never heard of, like “Mona Lisa Smile” and “Valentine’s Day,” in which, by the way, he appeared alongside Ashton Kutcher, his co-star on “That 70s Show.”
As to his private life, in 2006, he started dating Ivanka Trump, but barely a year later, he already moved on to actress Teresa Palmer. Their romance did not last long, as Topher hooked up with Anne Hathaway in 2010, which was also a very short relationship. You know where this is going, don’t you? In 2011, he found a new girlfriend — Teresa Palmer, who shared the screen with him in “Take Me Home Tonight.” However, Topher finally settled on Ashley Hinshaw in 2013, and they’ve been happily married since 2016.
