10 Coolest and Most Surprising Cameos in Film History

In case you didn’t know, a cameo is a small role in which a popular celebrity appears on the screen or lends their voice to one of the characters for a brief, often uncredited scene. Each of you probably remembers a few characters like that appearing out of nowhere, but for those of you who don’t pay too much attention to such minute details, we’ve prepared a list of the most unexpected cameos in film history.

1. Matt Damon — Eurotrip

Eurotrip had a very modest box office run, but that didn’t stop Matt Damon from taking part in several very strange scenes. He played the skinhead dude singing the song “Scotty Doesn’t Know Did you catch that it was Matt?.”

2. David Bowie — Zoolander

Zoolander brought together a slew of celebs who played themselves. Even though we saw big names like Winona Ryder, Gwen Stefani, and even Donald Trump, many fans keep coming back to the scene where Stiller and Wilson are stretching on the catwalk and David Bowie enters the room like a badass.

3. Sean Connery — Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves

Not many people know that Sir Sean Connery portrayed Robin Hood in “Robin and Marian” (1976), so it’s no surprise that Connery was asked to play a small role in “Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves.” By the way, despite receiving $ 2 million for his cameo, Sean was not even listed in the credits.

4. Madonna — Die Another Day

In addition to recording the official soundtrack for this James Bond movie, Madonna wished to play the fencing instructor for Pierce Brosnan. Unfortunately, the role was not as successful as the song, and Madonna even received the Golden Raspberry as the Worst Supporting Actress. Brutal!

5. Brad Pitt — Deadpool 2

This is one of those “blink, and you miss it” cameos. At a certain point in the movie, Deadpool gathers a team of uniquely talented mercenaries. One of the supers was an invisible dude named Vanisher. During a plane crash scene, Vanisher jumps and hits the power lines, revealing to the audience for a quick second that it was Brad Pitt all along!

6. Sylvester Stallone — Staying Alive

Only a handful of people remember Sylvester Stallone’s old movie he directed titled “Staying Alive” which was a sequel to “Saturday Night Fever.” But even fewer fans know that he had a tiny cameo in one of the scenes. He’s one of the people in the crowd, looking back at Travolta. When the big screen calls, Sly answers!

7. Hugh Jackman — X-Men: First Class

Marvel Movies, even those made by FOX, are famous for having numerous references to other films in the franchise, so the occasional appearance of seemingly random characters is very common. Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine is a key figure in most of the X-Men movies, but his appearance in “X-Men: First Class” was out of this world. It is by far the best use of the F-bomb in a PG movie.

8. Whoopi Goldberg — Little Rascals

Although the main characters of the “Little Rascals” are children, many 90s actors got an episodic role. The most unexpected of them all was Whoopi Goldberg’s cameo, who played one of the main characters’ mother.

9. Michael Jackson — Men in Black II

Men in Black 2 has become a truly iconic movie thanks to the excellent storyline and brilliant performance by Tommy Lee Jones and Will Smith. However, not many viewers noticed that one of the MIB agents is the King of Pop, Michael Jackson, whom we can see briefly on the screen.

10. Stan Lee — MCU films

No cameo list would be complete without Mr.Cameo himself – Stan “The Man” Lee. Being the creator of countless comic book characters, as well as the former big boss of Marvel Comics, Stan has appeared in almost every MCU movie made so far. And the future films will definitely have nods and references to his work, but sadly we won’t see The Man do a new cameo ever again.
