Things You Probably Didn’t Know About Heather Locklear

While Heather Locklear has been struggling with addiction and her mental health a lot lately, she was once one of Hollywood’s most famous leading ladies. There’s a lot to be said about her personal life and her career that is getting snowed under her recent troubles, and it’s such a shame to see her falling from grace.

To remind us of how amazing Heather Locklear is, let’s take a look at some things people probably don’t know or don’t remember about her.

Golden Globe Nominations

Not only was Heather a great actress that bagged loads of Golden Globe nominations – she actually got four consecutive ones for her role on Melrose Place. That’s no small feat, and one I don’t see another actress getting anytime soon.

Relationships

Heather has a thing for musicians, first marrying Tommy Lee of Mötley Crüe fame, then marrying Bon Jovi’s Richie Sambora. Richie and her had a daughter together, called Ava Elizabeth Sambora.

Dogs

A fond animal lover, Heather has nearly always had dogs around the house. In fact, after her latest run in with the justice system, she announced her return to Instagram by doing what any sensible person would do: she shared a dog photo.

The Aaron Spelling Connection

Despite Heather having a very varied acting career, she’s worked on no less than eight tv productions of well-known producer Aaron Spelling. That’s quite the professional relationship to work with someone that much, and nearly rivals the De Niro and Scorsese relationship.

Ancestry

Despite being as American as America gets, Heather is actually of a mixed ancestry, going all the way back to German and Scottish descent.

Psychology Major

Heather initially didn’t plan to become an actress at all, and actually enrolled at UCLA with the intent of becoming a psychology major. Somewhere down the line, she quit her studies to become on the most successful actresses of her generation. In all fairness, that’s not a bad reason to quit your studies and it did pay off for her.

William Shatner

One of her biggest inspirations and acting mentor was William Shatner. The two of them met on the set of TJ Hooker and they got along swimmingly. It is kind of hard to hate William Shatner though, so this isn’t all too surprising.
