There’s been a lot of breakups happening
during the quarantine. Is it because people are forced to spend way
too much time together and have nothing else going on so they get on
each other’s nerves? Is it because old problems got brought up or
have new ones been created during this time? We can’t be sure. In
fact, it’s entirely possible that many of these breakups would’ve
happened either way and the fact that they happened during the global
pandemic is simply a coincidence. Nonetheless, let’s take a look at
which celebrity couples broke up during quarantine.
1.
Mary-Kate Olsen & Olivier Sarkozy
Let’s be
honest, these two were always a weird couple and we never really felt
good about it. The age difference was very creepy. And now it seems
like their breakup is going to be ugly. Mary-Kate has attempted to
file for an emergency divorce since it looked like Olivier was trying
to end the lease on the apartment and force her out of it without her
knowledge. But since the courts in New York weren’t working due to
pandemic she only managed to successfully file for divorce this week.
Apparently, Sarkozy went as far as to attempt to invite his ex-wife
and kids to stay with him during the pandemic.
2.
Megan Fox & Brian Austin Green
These two have
been together for over a decade and have 3 kids together but it looks
like their relationship has run its course. Megan has filed for
divorce once a couple of years ago but they’ve reconciled since.
However, it looks like in the end it’s just better for the two to
break up and move on with their lives. Brian has said that they’ve
had a great relationship and there are no hard feelings, but Megan
has been spotted hanging out with her co-star Machine Gun Kelly.
3.
Cara Delevingne & Ashley Benson
This is possibly
the saddest and most unexpected breakup of this year. Cara Delevingne
and Ashley Benson have been together for 2 years and it seemed like
everything was going great. But they’ve split up and no one really
knows why. Ashley was getting some hate online after she was seen out
with someone else, but Cara was quick to defend her on Instagram. She
posted a story saying that no hate should be directed at Ashley and
no one knows what happened between them apart from them, and that’s
how it should be. And we agree.
4. Timothee Chalamet & Lily-Rose Depp
If you were upset
about the fact that Timothee Chalamet, everyone’s favourite boy
crush was dating Lily-Rose Depp we’ve got news for you. The two
broke up and Timothee even shared in his interview with British Vogue
that he’s single at the moment. So you know, now you can continue
dreaming up scenarios of dating him with a clear conscience.
5.
Shailene Woodley & Ben Volavola
These two have
been in a relationship for about 3 years but it looks like it’s
over. The confirmation of the breakup came this April when Shailene
mentioned in an interview that she’s single and has chosen to
remain single for a while. She says she’s been thinking about why
we’re socially conditioned to always be looking for the one, and
why do we even have the concept of finding “the one”. Are we with
people because we love them or because of the way they make us feel
and what sides of us they bring out?
6.
Lana Del Rey & Sean Larkin
It was a cute
romance, we loved that Lana Del Rey was dating a police officer from
Oklahoma. It made us hope that it’s totally possible for celebs and
normal people to date and lead a very normal life. But it looks like
their relationship is over and the two have just chosen to remain
friends. At least that’s what Sean said in an interview with the
New York Times.
7.
Tom Holland & Olivia Bolton
Tom Holland and Olivia have known each other for a while but this April we heard the news that they’re no longer dating. Apparently, they’ve decided that it’s best for them to break up, but they’re still very close and will probably remain good friends. It’s good to know that breakups don’t always have to be ugly and people can actually just part on good terms because they both realise it’s for the best and not because of some huge scandal.
