Every
great fantasy story revolves around a hero or villain who wields a
marvelous weapon of legend. Some weapons are more legendary than
others of course, and it only makes sense that we’d make a list of
the most awesome ones.
Just
in case you need some inspiration for your next Dungeons &
Dragons session.
Mjolnir
He
who holds this hammer, should he be worthy, shall have the power of
Thor. That’s pretty much what that hammer does.
The
One Ring
One
ring to rule them all and turn its wearer downright insane. The
entirety of Middle-Earth fought over this ring, so that should be
plenty of proof when it comes to its power.
The
Master Sword
If
you’ve ever played a Zelda game, you know why this weapon is
legendary. Not only can it easily turn Ganon into stone, it’s also
embodied by a goddess.
Excalibur
He
who holds this sword, should he be worthy, shall be the king of
England. Wait, this sounds like something we’ve heard before.
Moving on.
The
Deathly Hallows
The
invisibility cloak, resurrection stone and elder wand. Whoever
wielded these was one of the strongest in the Harry Potter universe,
but sadly Harry had to do the right thing and snapped the elder wand
in half.
Ice
The
House Stark sword might not look like much, but it’s one of the few
Valyrian steel weapons in the GoT universe. And since we all know
what Valyrian steel can do to White Walkers and how easily Ice
cleaves off heads, it’s a wonderfully powerful weapon to have.
Dagger
of Time
I
mean, it controls time. What more do I need to say? What other powers
could you need? Combine this with the Prince of Persia’s parkour
skills and you can pretty much save every kingdom you want to.
Poseidon’s Trident
Many weapons have shown up in many movies and cartoons based on this weapon, and they all pretty much boil down to the same thing: the trident gives its wielder control over the oceans and give him or her some extra supernatural abilities.
