The 7 Most Beautiful Butterflies In The World

Butterflies
are weird creatures. Pretty much everyone hates insects, but we also
consider butterflies to be alright. No one really knows why, but
compared to wasps or spiders, no one tries to teleport away whenever
they see a butterfly.

And
since we’re cool with these critters, let’s take a look at the
most beautiful ones.

The
Blue Morpho

Just
look at that blue fella – ain’t he a beauty? Or she, I guess.
Yes, I know it’s a bug and they’re gross by definition, but just
roll with me.

The
Glasswing Butterfly

This
one can carry up to 40 times its own weight, which is apparently more
impressive than what ants do. Also, its wings are see-through.

The
Sri Lankan Ceylon Rose

Sadly,
this beautiful creature is endangered because it’s slowly but
surely losing its habitat. Boo for that, right?

Sapho
Longwings

These
little critters go all the way from Mexico to Ecuador. I guess Trump
won’t even let these guys in.

Spicebrush
Swallowtails

These
are so amazing because they’re actually the largest butterflies on
Earth – they can reach a wing span of four inches! And yes, this is
one of the very few contexts where something would be called the
largest on Earth with a span of four inches.

Malabar
Banded Peacock

Look,
this is just simply a stunning butterfly. You can find it in the
western Ghats of India, but maybe we should stop being average human
beings and just let these amazing creatures be in peace.

Peacock
Swallowtail

We already saw a kind of Swallowtail earlier, but these ones are a lot darker and more mysterious. Also, they’re gorgeous and cute.
