Museums
are a weird form of culture. They used to be very popular some
decades ago, but somehow they got less and less popular as time got
by. In recent years, museums have gained in popularity again, leading
to increases in admissions and tourism. But since there’s so many
museums around, it might be best to just look out for the ones that
transcend the norm and are really, really good. Here’s a couple of
the best museums out there, just in case you’re planning a city
trip somewhere.

Natural
History Museum (London)

I
mean, we pretty much all expected this one to make the list, right?
It has a giant blue whale skeleton hanging from its ceiling. If that
won’t impress people, I don’t know what will.

American
Museum of Natural History (New York)

If
you’ve heard of the nearly complete T-rex skeleton – this is the
museum it’s at. It’s a fairly expensive museum to gain admission
to, but it’s honestly one of the best in the world. And the only
one where you can see a proper T-rex skeleton, so I guess it has that
going for it.

Kon Chian Natural History Museum (Singapore)

This
Southeastern Asian museum is mostly focused on its own fauna. The
museum has three stories, where each floor gives you more information
about a certain time in Singaporean history. And, as you’d expect
from a natural history museum, it has its fair share of dinosaur
skeletons too.

National
Museum of Natural History (Washington DC)

This
Washington DC based museum is better known as a part of the
Smithsonian. The Smithsonian pretty much has everything you can think
of, including dinosaur skeletons and live tarantula feedings. The
museum has over 145 million pieces that you can view, which means you
probably won’t get through them all in a single day.

Museum Of Natural History (Beijing)

This
museum is known for its huge collection of dinosaur displays, and for
having 86000 square feet of display space – this means that unless
you’re Superman, you probably won’t be fast enough to see
everything in one day.

Natural
History Museum (Vienna)

Even if we disregard the marvelous architecture of this building, there’s plenty to see in this Vienna museum. For one, it has the world’s largest collection of meteorites. I don’t know If that’s your thing, but if it is – go to Vienna.
