6 Ways To Measure Success

Success is an abstract concept to most people. It seems like today’s society is all about looking for the failures we’ve had in life, trying to “get better” or “do better” where in fact most of us are actually doing pretty good.
It may sound like an easy thing to do, but measuring your successes will get you a lot further in life than measuring your failures. Here’s a few ways, simple and complex, how you can measure your own success in your life.

Money
This is probably the simplest one. If you can pay all your bills and still have money left to live a little and save a little, you’ve already been somewhat financially successful. Considering how many people live in poverty, that’s probably not a bad place to start.

Evaluate The Process
Sure, you may have failed getting that promotion at work, but is it because you were bad or because someone else was simply better? There’s no shame in not being the very best – that doesn’t make you bad at all.

How Does It Make You Feel
Something doesn’t have to be groundbreaking to make you happy or make you feel good about yourself. Success is measured by how it feels, not by what it does.

Long Term
Every story of success has some obstacles along the way. It’s okay to get knocked down every once in a while, just pick yourself up and keep going.

Learn From Mistakes
Success is growth, plain and simple. You can’t grow if you don’t make mistakes, and especially if you don’t learn from them.

Compare To Yourself
There’s always someone more successful than you are, but that doesn’t mean you can’t be happy with the goals you’ve reached for yourself.
