7 Creative Ways To Save Money

Seems like everyone is either broke or halfway there these days. The economy has been in a dump for the last decade or so and our bank accounts have paid the price. Thankfully, we don’t have to let the rest of society drag us down with them.

If you’re looking to save some money in new ways, take a look below.

Use A Cash Budget
I know, it doesn’t really sound all that creative, but not relying on the ease of using your credit card is a pretty wild idea these days. Decide how much money you want to spend weekly, withdraw it and stick to the number.

Make Pro-Con Lists For Big Purchases
You can start off by only buying things that have more pros than cons, but you can adjust this system as you like. Maybe for a few months, you can decide to only buy things that have 5 more pros than cons.

Grow Your Own Veggies
Veggies might not be the most expensive food, but growing them yourself is dirt cheap.

Use Roundup Savings
This is a pretty new thing some banks are doing where every card payment gets rounded up to the nearest Dollar/Euro/Scheckel and puts the difference in your savings account. You’ll be saving money without actually doing anything.

Put Away Every $5 Bill You Get
This might sound a bit weird, but every time you get a $5 bill, just put it away. A college professor saved $40,000 in 13 years doing just this, so that seems worth it.

Do Free Things
A museum is holding a free exhibition in town? Well then, sounds like your Saturday is planned. It’ll probably save you the $30 you’d drink at the bar.

Don’t Pay For Delivery
Paying for delivery is a laziness tax, and lazy people never end up rich. Take the hint.
